John R. Martzell (1937-2007)

Mr. Martzell practiced in the areas of civil and criminal litigation. He received a bachelors degree from the University of Notre Dame and his law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1961, where he served as a law review editor.
Scott R. Bickford
Scott Bickford is a trial attorney who for over 25 years has represented the rights of injured workers and their families in environmental cases. He has represented hundreds of individuals exposed to asbestos, welding fumes, and other toxic substances. As part of this representation, he has successfully tried numerous cases involving different asbestos illnesses, participated on national panels involving asbestos litigation problems, and has lectured extensively on asbestos trial practice to other attorneys.
Regina O. Matthews
Ms. Matthews received her undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1969, earned a Masters in Library Science from Louisiana State University in 1976, and received her Juris Doctorate magna cum laude from Tulane University in 1988. While in law school, she was the Senior Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review and was awarded the Order of the Coif.
Spencer R. Doody
New Orleans native Spencer Doody studied accounting and economics at Loyola University New Orleans. In 1998 during his junior year, Mr. Doody was admitted to Tulane Law School, where he was recipient of the Lemle & Kelleher Foundation Scholarship. He graduated from Tulane Law School in 2001 and joined M&B as an associate in 2002. Before joining Martzell & Bickford, Mr. Doody worked as a litigation assistant in environmental, landfill, zoning and personal injury litigation.
Larry J. Centola III
Mr. Centola received his Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University in 2001 and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University in 1998. Mr. Centola served as the LSU Student Body President for the 1997-98 academic year, and served as the student member on the LSU Board of Supervisors for
1997-98.
Neil F. Nazareth
Neil F. Nazareth received his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University School of Law in 2003 and Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Louisiana State University in 2000. Mr. Nazareth served on the Moot Court Board during the 2002-2003 academic year, and was the Moot Court Coach of the Evidence Team in New York and the Health Law Team in Illinois.
Roshawn H. Donahue
Mrs. Donahue received her Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Louisiana State University in 2003 and earned her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Southern University A & M College in 2006. While at Southern University, Mrs. Donahue served as the Vice President of Women in Law for the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 school years.

Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Martzell served as a law clerk to the Honorable J. Skelly Wright, United States District Court Judge and to the Honorable Frank B. Ellis, United States District Court Judge.
From 1966 to 1972, he served as director of the Louisiana Commission on Human Relations, Rights and Responsibilities and was special counsel to Governor John W. McKeithen. Mr. Martzell's practice in the areas of civil and criminal litigation emphasizes trial practice, although he is highly regarded as an appellate advocate as well. Mr. Martzell has also served various government bodies as special counsel, including the New Orleans City Council during its 1986 special investigation into sales tax collections.
Mr. Martzell was active in various professional organizations. From 1982 to 1984, he served as Chairman of the Department of Public Affairs of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He was a past president of the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association and has served on its Board of Governors. In recognition of his advocacy skills, Mr. Martzell was elected to the American College of Trial Lawyers. Mr. Martzell lectured at Louisiana State University Law School, Tulane Law School, and Notre Dame Law School.

In 1996, he represented U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu in an election contest before the United States Senate. He has also served as a court appoint special mater in attorney fee litigation disputes and has served as an expert witness in attorney fee arbitration.
